This was a fun weekend giving back to the game that’s shaped me and supporting those who just love the game of baseball.
As for Bambino Baseball, its a Tewksbury Youth Baseball program that I have volunteered at since the age of 10 (I am now 15). Its aim is to get special needs children outdoors with their friends, to meet new people, and to have fun! The program teaches the basics of the game while also strengthening social skills around team work, cooperation, and friendship. If I do not have a game myself, I can be found every Sunday at Poulin Field in Tewksbury, MA with my Bambino Baseball friends. I’ve also been extremely fortunate enough to be joined by my good friend Justin Plamondon (5+ years) and my little brother Brody Augustyniak (2+ years).
I credit my Nana (Julie Augustyniak) with instilling in me the passion for giving back. For my entire life she has partnered with Best Buddies and has made many of its participants extended family members of mine.

Regarding Beep Ball, it was a volunteer opportunity provided to me by my High School baseball Coach, Matt Feld. Coach Feld is a firm believer in giving back and supporting the local community whether through baseball or other means. Coach Feld often times messages the team with local events that are in need of volunteers. Recent volunteer opportunities have included youth baseball clinics, road race helpers, and Beep Ball volunteers. Coach Feld has become a mentor of mine and someone who I look up to.
If you have never seen a Beep Ball game in person, I highly recommend you attend a future game. The passion and dedication these athletes show for the game of baseball is unbelievable. I was in awe the entire time…
