About:
What began as a heartfelt initiative by a former Hopkinton Girls Varsity Hockey player has grown into an inspiring annual event that brings the community together for a powerful cause. Four years ago, Keelan Boyle started this special fundraiser game when her mom, Marie, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Keelan spearheaded the effort by securing donations for custom teal-colored game jerseys and socks to honor the fight against ovarian cancer. Alongside her team, she designed a fundraiser format that has become a hallmark of the event, featuring a prize raffle, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle—all contributing to the cause.
The event begins with an emotional speech delivered by Marie Boyle herself, alongside an oncology nurse from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, sharing insights and personal stories that highlight the importance of the mission.
This year marked the fourth annual running of the fundraiser game, showcasing the enduring impact of one player’s determination to support her mother and others battling ovarian cancer. The Hopkinton hockey community continues to rally together, wearing teal with pride and proving that teamwork extends far beyond the ice.
This remarkable tradition exemplifies the spirit of compassion and resilience that makes Hopkinton Girls Varsity Hockey truly special.
