On September 12, the Nashoba and Leominster FH hosted a special night dedicated to Childhood Cancer Awareness. This event honored the memory of Michelle Farnsworth, a young athlete whose spirit continues to inspire.
Michelle was a talented swimmer and field hockey player from Leominster, Massachusetts. Diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, at the age of 14, she faced her illness with remarkable courage and grace. Tragically, Michelle passed away on January 13, 2015. In her memory, her family established the Michelle Farnsworth Memorial Scholarship Fund, aiming to support students in Central Massachusetts who have participated in swimming or field hockey and demonstrate a commitment to continuing their education.
The September 12 game served as a poignant reminder of Michelle’s enduring legacy. The community came together to honor her life and contributions. Funds raised during the event will benefit the scholarship fund, ensuring that Michelle’s spirit continues to inspire future generations.
