About:
All the girls tie dyed purple shirts and will be wearing them in our game today against Uxbridge. This is an annual event and we honored the mother of Caroline Hurley and Leah Hodgen’s father who both lost their lives due to cancer.
The girls raise funds by soliciting donations from the community through social media and day of game donation booth. The girls put in about two hours each working on shirts and donation collection and promotion. We also honor the late father of another current player who passed from cancer as well.
The team also presents the two current players with flowers after the game. We take pictures as well of the girls in their purple shirts and post on social media to raise awareness of cancer.
Picture Caption: In front number 13 is Leah Hodgens who lost her dad and number four Caroline Hurley who lost her mom. We raised $900 dollars for pancan an organization that raises money for pancreatic cancer. I am very proud of them.
