About:
The Hudson Athletics community came together in a powerful moment of remembrance and respect during the Sheryl Jones Tournament, honoring the life and legacy of longtime “Voice of the Hawks,” Don Quinn.
Before Game 2 against Shrewsbury, Coach Laura Bowen led a heartfelt tribute to Mr. Quinn, whose presence and passion were synonymous with Hudson athletics for many years. Known as a true pillar of the community, his voice and spirit left a lasting impact on generations of student-athletes, families, and fans.
In a touching ceremony, members of Don Quinn’s family joined Coach Bowen on the field, where his grandson delivered a ceremonial first pitch—an emotional moment that symbolized both remembrance and continuity.
While the game marked an important competition in the tournament, it was the pregame tribute that truly captured the essence of education-based athletics—honoring those who helped build the culture and community that student-athletes carry forward today.
Hudson Athletics reminded everyone that the impact of individuals like Don Quinn extends far beyond the field. His legacy will continue to live on in Hawk Nation.
