About:
Students at Forest Road Elementary School in the Valley Stream District 30 have been piling up donations for various good causes.
A coat drive, with bags already filled to the brims, will benefit Rescuing Families of Franklin Square, to keep those in need warm for the season.
Roughly 10 boxes filled with books will be sent to the Book Fairies, a non-profit organization that supplies reading materials for those in need throughout metropolitan New York.
A toy drive, organized by the school PTA and which ran until Dec. 10, was sent to the local Marines Toys for Tots Foundation.
