About Project Blackout
Started in NH ten year ago, Project Blackout is a nonprofit organization on a mission to turn out the lights on pediatric cancer. According to the CDC, New England has the highest rate of pediatric cancer in the United States. Project Blackout hopes to unite local schools and towns during the month of September (Childhood Cancer Month) by encouraging students to wear the Blackout cancer t-shirt in order to raise awareness. There is a new logo each year and proceeds from t-shirt sales go to local organizations focused on pediatric cancer research. To date Project Blackout has raised more than $200,000.
