About:
This summer, the Marshfield Boys Hockey team demonstrated their commitment to giving back to the community by volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield. In an inspiring show of leadership, ten players dedicated their time and skills to create an unforgettable summer for local youth.
For five weeks, the hockey players volunteered one hour each week, offering fun and engaging street hockey lessons. These lessons were designed for kids aged 5 to 11 and were filled with a mix of skill-building activities and exciting street hockey games.
The majority of the activities focused on developing street hockey skills, followed by spirited games where the young players could put their new abilities to the test. The Marshfield players, many of whom serve as role models both on and off the ice, made sure the sessions were enjoyable and inclusive for all skill levels.
This community service project not only allowed the young athletes to share their passion for hockey, but it also fostered a strong bond between the team and the local community. By volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club, they helped provide a positive, active, and fun environment for the kids during the summer months, reinforcing the importance of teamwork, leadership, and community involvement.
The Marshfield Boys Hockey team’s involvement at the Boys & Girls Club is a shining example of how athletes can use their skills to make a lasting impact off the field. Through their dedication and enthusiasm, these players created memories and experiences for the younger generation, showcasing the power of sports to bring people together.
As the new season approaches, the Marshfield hockey team will continue to carry the values of community and teamwork with them on the ice, having already scored big off the ice this summer.
