About:
The Medfield High School Field Hockey team faced off against Holliston in their annual “Stick It to Cancer” game, which kicked off at 4:00 PM on their home turf. This long-standing tradition, organized by the captains, saw the field adorned with pink streamers and balloons as a heartfelt show of support for cancer survivors—including the mothers of three players—and those currently battling the disease or with loved ones affected by it.
In addition to the game, the team hosted a bake sale, with all proceeds going toward breast cancer research. This event was about more than just competition; it was an opportunity for the entire community to come together and make a meaningful contribution in the fight against cancer.
As the team’s senior tricaptains, Adeline Keaveney, Emily Fratolillo, and Maeve Kelly, shared:
“This cause hits close to home for our team, as we have three girls in the program whose moms have recently fought breast cancer. All the money we raised will be donated in their names. Every year, this is one of our favorite games!”
The Medfield Field Hockey team and their community united for this important cause, demonstrating that together, we can make a difference!
