Chelmsford High School’s football team has launched an inspiring new tradition called “My Jersey, Your Impact.” At every home game, senior players honor a staff member who has made a meaningful difference in their lives by presenting them with their game jersey. This heartfelt gesture highlights the deep connection between students and the teachers or staff who have positively influenced them, emphasizing the importance of mentorship and support within the school community.
This initiative is part of the football program’s broader effort to cultivate leadership through respect and appreciation. Each week, senior athletes select a different teacher or staff member, present them with their away jersey on game day, and include a handwritten note expressing gratitude for the impact that person has had on their lives.
The “My Jersey, Your Impact” tradition has strengthened bonds across Chelmsford High, bringing the school community closer together while teaching student-athletes the value of the support they receive from their dedicated teachers and administrators.
