About:

In September 2021 Mr. Roche lost a long battle with melanoma cancer. He is the father of 3 current Scarlet Knights, and knew many girls on the volleyball team. They grew up playing sports with his children, and being coached by him. He also coached youth softball and knows many of our current volleyball and softball players and their parents.
Many of our families were affected by his loss and when we were thinking about doing a traditional “dig pink “game or breast cancer awareness match, my athletes, Isabelle McElhiney and friends thought we could donate to Mass General where he had treatment for Melanoma and was a donation suggestion in his obituary. We teamed up with Mass General Hospital melanomas research Center and the “beCause” Fundraising Community. This has a deep connection to our community!
Volleyball athletes  McElhiney, Chloe Marconi, Amanda Steely, Maeve Gaffny & Brigid Gaffny spearheaded this campaign, involving the family in an attempt to pay it forward, and rally support during this difficult time.
