About:
Every year since 2014 the field hockey team has held a Michelle Night in honor of a former field hockey player that was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma.  Unfortunately she passed away in January of 2015.  Her family set up a scholarship in her name “Michelle Farnsworth Scholarship” and each spring there are 3 awards that are given out to graduating seniors.  One is for a Field hockey player in Cmass and swimmer in CMASS and a Nashoba student.
Also we are involved in raising money for breast cancer awareness and hold a Pink Night in October during one of our home night games.  Each year our team collectively sells apparel for people to buy.  In the past money raised has gone to a local organization called Pink Revolution.  This year the proceeds will be going to the Ellie Fund.  The Ellie Fund essentially is a program that relieves the patients burden while in treatment.  Our money is being donated in memory of a former 2007 Nashoba grad, Julie McNally who passed away from breast cancer in Sept.
Our team will also be volunteering at a 5K festival at Schartner Farms in Bolton put on by the Bolton Community Fund in October.  The team will have a variety of tasks that they will help with.  Some tasks include, handing out race bibs, guiding kids through the corn maze, helping with crafts/activities, handing out water cups, and selling raffle tickets.
In addition, the week before the season begins our team puts on a youth clinic.  The girls volunteer 4 hrs each day for 3 days in August to coach the younger players.
