About:
“The boys and girls teams at Natick HS work closely with the Natick youth hockey program called the Comets. The players volunteer their time in the fall and winter running skills clinics to help strengthen the bond between the HS programs and youth. We have many players on both the girls and boys teams who are also Asst. Coaches on the younger teams and attend their practices and games. Our goal is to build a solid foundation for Redhawk Nation.
We also have Comets players come to home games to be Jr players for the night helping to pick up pucks after game warm ups and standing with the teams during the National anthem. Many players on our teams now can remember when they participated in this as youth players and the pride to now be standing as a player on the blue line.
The boys and girls teams also just completed their 12th annual food drive in memory of a boys player Justin Bailey who passed away suddenly during the 2012 season. His memory is kept alive by giving back to those in need, helping to fill the Natick Food Pantry during the winter months.
As coaches we believe community involvement and giving back to those who support us. Hockey is just a game it is the life lessons they learn through out their HS careers that they will take with them.” —
Coach Karl Infanger
The team has an additional event in which both teams will be helping out, The Middle School Connor Cup games. The event raises funds for pediatric cancer and it is run annually for a former middle school hockey player who passed away.
The Captains of the boys and girls teams coach the opposing Natick Middle school teams and the event draws upwards of 500 people. It is something the whole community looks forward to.
