About:
Norton High School recently held a heartfelt First Responders Night during their game against DS, where the community gathered to honor the local heroes who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving. This special evening was a tribute to the Norton Police, Norton Fire, and all other community service members for their unwavering commitment to the families, students, and residents of Norton.
The event was organized by the NHS boosters, who worked closely with community first responders to make the evening a memorable one. Players and coaches wore special warm-up shirts featuring the Norton Basketball logo on the front and an image honoring local first responders on the back. During pre-game ceremonies, the first responders were recognized, and the color/honor guard presented the flags during the national anthem.
This night holds a special place in the hearts of the players, coaches, and fans alike. Many local police officers attended, including the town’s Police Chief, and several fans purchased the special shirts and sweatshirts worn during the event to show their pride in honoring the first responders. The night stands out as one of NHS’s favorite traditions, alongside Coaches vs. Cancer and Senior Night.
The event’s success was made possible by the hard work of Tracey Todesco and Victor Rodriguez from the boosters, whose behind-the-scenes efforts ensured everything ran smoothly. The community has truly embraced this evening as an opportunity to pause and reflect on the importance of those who serve, making it a night of deep gratitude and unity.
