About:
On Senior Night, the Nipmuc Regional High School boys’ lacrosse team came together not only to celebrate their senior athletes, but also to support a local young boy name Cam who is currently battling cancer. The evening was a powerful display of community, compassion, and the true spirit of high school athletics.
The game, held at Northbridge, served as a platform to raise funds and awareness for the young boy and his family. Each player contributed $20, with half of the amount donated directly to the cause. Coaches Tyler Cheverier of Nipmuc and Frank Arena of AMSA (Advanced Math & Science Academy) generously donated t-shirts to sell at the event, with 100% of the proceeds going toward the fundraiser.
The team also spread the word through social media and word of mouth, ensuring a wide reach and meaningful impact. A 50/50 raffle was held during the game, and the Snack Shack made an additional generous gesture by donating a portion of its earnings to the fundraiser.
This act of kindness wasn’t an isolated event. For the past three years, Nipmuc Lacrosse has made community service a priority, whether through fundraisers or direct support for local families in need, the team consistently demonstrates a commitment to making a positive difference.
The involvement of AMSA’s coach further emphasized the unity and support within the broader athletic community, highlighting how sports can bring people together for a greater good.
Nipmuc Lacrosse continues to lead by example, showing what it truly means to be champions both on and off the field.
