About:
The Nipmuc Girls Volleyball team rallied together for their highly anticipated Dig Pink Game, an annual event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Both the JV and Varsity teams, consisting of approximately 30 athletes, took to the court, decked out in pink gear, playing with passion and purpose. But this game wasn’t just about volleyball—it was about uniting the community for an important cause.
While the players’ athletic skills shone on the court, their dedication off the court was just as impressive. The entire team, along with supportive parents and local businesses, worked tirelessly to make the event a success. Funds raised during the game were donated to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, supporting critical breast cancer research and providing resources for those affected by the disease.
When asked about the effort behind the event, the Nipmuc Volleyball team emphasized that it wasn’t about counting hours volunteered but about the collective passion everyone poured into the cause. Together, the team and community raised over $2,500—an incredible testament to the generosity and support of local businesses, families, and surrounding communities.
The Dig Pink Game served not only as a platform to raise funds but also to spread awareness. Throughout the evening, speakers shared stories of those who had survived breast cancer, remembered those who were lost, and honored the strength of the entire community. It was a meaningful night of unity, remembrance, and action.
To cap off the event, Nipmuc faced off against a town rival, delivering an exciting and competitive match for all who attended. In the end, it wasn’t just a game—it was an evening where sports and service came together to make a difference.
