North Andover High School – Matthew Harty Hockey Game

My name is Scott Greene, the boys varsity hockey coach at North Andover High School. We held our recent fundraiser game in memory of Matthew Harty.

Both the boys and girls (Haverhill/Pentucket/North Andover co-op) have done a tremendous job supporting, promoting, and fundraising for the Matthew Harty Scholarship. The teams collect donations leading up to the game, often in the form of gift cards to be raffled, The event has been running for, I believe, 5 years (last year was not able to happen due to COVID). Every year has been a success as the community comes together to support the Harty family and the fundraiser.

There are 20 boys on the varsity and 22 girls on the girls team. The boys put in maybe 2 hours combined of collecting donations. The girls put in more because they worked together on the decorations for the event as well.
