Two special nights in January highlighted the power of athletics to honor, remember, and give back, as our community came together for a meaningful Coaches vs. Cancer Game on January 15, 2026, followed by an inspiring First Responder Game on January 23, 2026.
The Coaches vs. Cancer game was a heartfelt evening dedicated to honoring those impacted by cancer. The gym was filled with pink, from the student section to the players and cheerleaders, creating a powerful show of unity and support. A Wall of Remembrance allowed fans to reflect and honor loved ones, while pink bead necklaces were worn throughout the night. Players had the opportunity to “play” for a special person in their lives, with those names read aloud prior to tip-off—an emotional moment that set the tone for the evening.
Thanks to the community’s generosity, approximately $600 was raised and donated directly to the American Cancer Society, supporting cancer research, advocacy, and patient services. The night was a meaningful reminder of how sports can bring people together for a cause that touches so many.
Just over a week later, the spotlight shifted to honoring local heroes during the annual Norton First Responder Game. The event once again drew strong support, with the Norton Police Honor Guard presenting the colors and many members of the Norton Fire Department and EMS in attendance. Players and cheerleaders proudly wore special Shooter shirts to recognize and thank the first responders who serve and protect the community every day.
Both nights showcased the heart of Norton Athletics—where competition meets compassion, and where school spirit is paired with gratitude and service. These events continue to reflect the strong bond between our teams and the community they represent.
