About:
Norton Lancer Athletics brought purpose to the rink as the Norton Hockey team partnered with the National Honor Society to support Pediatric Cancer Awareness Night ahead of their matchup against Hopkinton.
Students from Norton’s National Honor Society led fundraising efforts at the game, hosting a 50/50 raffle and donation table to engage fans and raise awareness for pediatric cancer research. All proceeds from the evening were directed to support pediatric cancer initiatives, reinforcing the school’s commitment to service and community impact.
With the hockey team lending its platform and visibility to the cause, the event highlighted how athletics can amplify student-led service efforts. Players, students, families, and fans came together with a shared goal — using game night energy to support children and families facing unimaginable challenges.
Pediatric Cancer Awareness Night was a powerful reminder that the impact of school sports reaches far beyond competition. Through collaboration between Norton Athletics and the National Honor Society, the Lancers once again demonstrated leadership, compassion, and the ability to rally a community around an important cause.
