About:
The Notre Dame Academy Hingham Athletics community experienced a powerful and emotional full circle moment as their Varsity Softball team came out to support one of their own.
The team attended a collegiate matchup to cheer on alumna Shannon MacLeod as she took the field for Boston College Softball in a game against Syracuse University Softball.
More Than a Game
While the opportunity to watch a former teammate compete at the Division I level was special in itself, the day carried even deeper meaning. Shannon honored her mother, Liz Walker, by wearing No. 16—a tribute to the strength, love, and legacy that continues to inspire her journey.
Surrounded by her former teammates and the NDA community, the moment served as a reminder of the powerful connections that extend far beyond high school athletics.
A Community That Stays Connected
Seeing current student-athletes show up in support reflects the culture within Notre Dame Academy—one rooted in encouragement, pride, and lifelong connection. Moments like this inspire younger players while reinforcing the impact of a strong athletic community.
Cougar Pride on Display
From high school fields to the collegiate stage, NDA continues to celebrate its athletes every step of the way. Watching Shannon compete at the highest level—and doing so while honoring her family—made for a truly unforgettable experience.
A proud moment for NDA, and a reminder that once a Cougar, always a Cougar.
