OA Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer Support Cancer Awareness

Throughout October, the OA Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer teams united on and off the field to raise money and awareness for cancer. Both teams wore special pink jerseys during their home Cancer Awareness Games and sported pink socks all month long as a visible sign of support. They also wrote the name of someone in their hearts affected by cancer on pink tape and wore it on their wrist, carrying those individuals with them each time they took the field.

Thanks to the generosity of players, families, and the OA community, the teams raised over $2,000.00 through combined efforts, with all proceeds to be donated to Love for Linley, honoring a dear friend, Linley Menard, who lost her life to DIPG five years ago. The teams are proud to use their platform to remember Linley and stand together in the fight against cancer.
