About:
The Oliver Ames Volleyball team recently came together for their annual Dig Pink Game, an event dedicated to raising awareness and support for breast cancer. The night began with a heartfelt pre-game ceremony organized by the team’s boosters, setting the stage for an inspiring evening. This special game celebrates the strength of community and teamwork, bringing players, families, and fans together for an important cause.
For over a decade, the team has supported the SIDEOUT Foundation through this event, with players creating posters, decorating the gym, and donning special pink uniforms. A highlight of the evening is the ceremony honoring “VIPs”—friends and family members who are breast cancer survivors—each of whom receives a flower as a tribute.
The team raises funds in a variety of ways, including raffles, car washes, a pink-themed snack bar, and sales of specially designed Dig Pink T-shirts. Thanks to the community’s generosity, the team has been able to donate over $1,000 annually to support breast cancer awareness and research.
