About:

Our whole team (approx 30 athletes) is helping out, but the varsity program is doing the majority of the “work”. Our former captain, Priscilla Bonica, class of  2021, is currently fighting a grade four brain tumor that was diagnosed last spring. She was a three sport athlete at QHS and despite a poor prognosis, she is in good spirits and is fighting like crazy. Priscilla is well known through the local basketball communities as a talented high school and AAU player.

We are passing out ribbons to each team we play against and asking them to put them on their basketball bags for awareness. I believe you saw the Duxbury team respond to the ribbons in a tweet. The girl’s have also written a note explaining the ribbons, and it’s handed to their captains during the pregame handshake.

In addition to adding ribbons to their bags, we are inviting them to the double-header endowment game with local teams that know Priscilla well on Jan 29th.  Fontbonne will play Pembroke at 5pm, and Quincy High School will play Abington at 7pm that day. We have gotten refs to volunteer their time, and also a youth program to come play at half time to get more people into the building. All entry donations, concession profits, and fan gear proceeds that day will go to support the family and the cause.  4
