The RHS Boys Basketball Program recently had the honor of volunteering at the 11th Annual Mass Badge Community Happy Thanksgiving Dinner, an event that beautifully highlights the spirit of giving back. This complimentary turkey dinner, organized by Revere Police and Mass Badge, serves the Revere and surrounding communities, with support from Mayor Keefe, Revere Recreation Department, local police, and many others.
For the past eight years, the RHS Boys Basketball team has proudly volunteered at this event, serving Thanksgiving meals to less fortunate families in the community. This year, the athletes had the privilege of helping prepare and serve food, assist with event coordination, and engage directly with those in need.
The dinner brought together community members, volunteers, and organizations to ensure that no one had to spend the holiday without a warm meal. The RHS Boys Basketball team’s commitment to service was evident in every aspect of the event. Their efforts not only made a difference to those they served but also reinforced the bond between the team and the community that supports them.
Volunteering at such a meaningful event served as a powerful reminder that the impact of sports extends beyond the game itself. It was an opportunity for the athletes to give back, show gratitude, and make a lasting positive impact on their community.
