About:
On a bright Saturday morning, the Sandwich High School varsity baseball team and coaching staff hosted a free clinicfor players from the Sandwich Little League program, drawing over 60 participants between the ages of 5 and 12.
Held at the team’s home field, the clinic featured a series of engaging skill drills and games, all led by the high school players and coaches. The young athletes had the chance to learn fundamentals, build confidence, and have fun alongside the varsity team.
The goal of the clinic was to strengthen the connection between the town’s youth baseball players and the high school program, creating a sense of unity and pride across age levels. Head Coach Brian Tomasini emphasized the importance of fostering these relationships within the community.
“We take great pride in the bonds we’re building with our future Blue Knights and their families,” Tomasini said. “It was inspiring to see our players bring so much energy and pride to the field, especially on their day off.”
The Sandwich baseball program continues to lead by example, demonstrating that sports can be a powerful tool for mentorship, community engagement, and shared passion for the game.
