We have asked our Captains Council and Students to get more involved with the Senior Citizens in our community. Erin Lamonte, who works for the Council on Aging, and I (Scott Paine)have teamed up to get this off the ground. Erin came to our Captains Council meeting and proposed the concept to the students. Our first (and ongoing) task was to remove air conditioning units from the Senior Citizens apartment windows. Last Saturday 5 Scituate High School Football players removed 8 units and this Saturday we will have about 20 players removing 40 more AC units. The boys did a great job and had a lot of fun. I have attached a picture of the boys and one of the residents. We will be looking to do whatever we can throughout the year to foster the relationships between high school students and the Senior Community.
