About:
Sharon Athletics brought the community together for a meaningful Hockey Fights Cancer game, using the power of sport to raise awareness and support an important cause. Led by Sarah Scappattici and her teammates, the event highlighted how student-athletes can make an impact far beyond the ice.
The special game took place at Canton Ice House, where players wore Hockey Fights Cancer–inspired jerseys, reminding everyone in attendance that this game meant more than the final score. Fans supported the cause through game admission, with all proceeds donated directly to The Reo Todesca Memorial Foundation, helping fund cancer research and support for families affected by the disease.
Admission for the event allowed fans access to all games throughout the day, and additional fundraising efforts—including donations from those unable to attend—helped expand the reach and impact of the night.
Hockey Fights Cancer nights like this reflect the heart of Sharon Athletics: leadership, compassion, and community service. By rallying around a shared mission, student-athletes, families, and supporters showed that when communities come together, they can make a meaningful difference in the fight against cancer.
