The Scituate High School Football team has kicked off an exciting new initiative, “Sailors Serving Seniors,” aimed at giving back to the local community that has always been so supportive of their schools. In collaboration with the Scituate Housing Authority, the team has begun building a relationship centered on helping senior citizens with various projects. Last Saturday, 16 football players spent their morning assisting seniors by removing air conditioning units from their apartments, ensuring the homes were ready for the colder months ahead.
Looking ahead, discussions have already begun with Sarah McManus of the Scituate Housing Authority about future projects, including painting and creating gardens. The “Sailors Serving Seniors” initiative is just getting started, but it’s clear the team is ready to make a lasting impact in their community.
