About:
This past weekend, Taunton Hockey brought the community together for a special event that blended sportsmanship, mentorship, and fun. The team hosted a free youth hockey clinic open to Taunton residents and public school students in grades K–7, drawing 36 enthusiastic young players from across the local area.
Split into two sessions—one for Mites and Squirts (ages 10 and under) and another for Pee Wees and Bantams (ages 11–14)—the clinic offered a variety of engaging drills designed to help players sharpen their skills while enjoying the game. But beyond the drills, it was the atmosphere that stood out most.
Four dedicated coaches and 14 current high school players volunteered their time to lead the sessions, playing alongside the youth and guiding them through every pass, shot, and skate. Their leadership helped foster a sense of community and showed the younger athletes what it means to be part of a team.
The event was a shining example of how sports can bring people together. Taunton Hockey continues to be a force for good—on and off the ice—by inspiring future players and strengthening the bond between generations of athletes.
