About:
The long-serving varsity assistant coach, Mike Hayes, who dedicated 15 years to the team, received a diagnosis of Glioblastoma in March 2021.
Despite undergoing treatments and facing numerous challenges, he continued to fulfill his coaching duties on the bench.
This year, in a joint effort with his wife and family, they formed a team to take part in the New England Brain Tumor Walk held in Boston.
The team garnered support from various players in the program, their families, and numerous alumni, all of whom raised funds for brain cancer research.
On the designated Sunday, they actively participated in the Brain Tumor Walk. Known as “Hope for Hayes,” their collective efforts resulted in an impressive fundraising achievement of over $13,000 for brain cancer research, ranking them as the fifth highest fundraising team among 115 teams.
The TMHS community demonstrated strong support for their beloved coach, Mike Hayes, with approximately 80 participants, including 10 active players and approximately 10-12 alumni with their families.
