About:
The Westwood High School Girls Soccer Team once again demonstrated their compassion, teamwork, and community spirit through their annual breast cancer awareness initiative.
This year, the team proudly raised $7,500 for the American Cancer Society, helping to advance research in the fight against breast cancer and provide vital support for those affected.
In addition to their fundraising efforts, the team participated in the 5-mile Making Strides Walk in Boston, joining thousands of others united in hope and solidarity. Through their “pink” games, social-media messaging, and community outreach, the players continue to amplify awareness throughout the Westwood community.
“Our goal each year is to create awareness beyond the fundraising alone,” said Coach Seth Lucash. “I’m extremely proud that our athletes recognize the importance of this event — they bring such enthusiasm and positive energy to support those currently fighting, survivors, and families of those impacted. As the son of a mother who lost her battle with breast cancer, this tradition is one I’m truly honored to continue.”
The Westwood Girls Soccer program continues to prove that when student-athletes come together for a cause greater than themselves, their impact reaches far beyond the field — inspiring hope, unity, and lasting change.
