About:
Weymouth High School’s Field Hockey team recently held their annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game, playing with passion and purpose to honor those affected by the disease. Both the varsity and JV teams came together, donning pink shirts, socks, and even pink ribbons to show their support for breast cancer awareness. The team also wore special ribbon tattoos to further highlight the cause, promoting the importance of early detection and support for those battling breast cancer.
This inspiring event has become a meaningful tradition at Weymouth, with the game taking place each October to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As a sport predominantly played by females, the team recognizes the importance of raising awareness, with approximately 13% of women being impacted by breast cancer in their lifetime. Through their posts and outreach, they aim to encourage the community to stay informed and get involved in the fight against breast cancer.
Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s game and helped raise awareness for such an important cause!
