About:
Winchester Athletics continues to demonstrate the power of community involvement, teaming up with the En Ka Food Pantry to support local families in need. Their commitment to service, both on and off the field, highlights how sports can have a far-reaching impact, creating positive change where it’s needed most. This kind of collaboration is what sets Winchester Athletics apart, inspiring others to give back and make a difference in their community.
One project that has greatly benefited from this partnership is the En Ka Pantry, which was launched in 2020 to address the growing issue of food insecurity in Winchester. Currently serving approximately 120 households, the pantry provides critical support to those struggling to put food on the table.
Last year, Winchester High School’s football team partnered with the En Ka Society to host a food drive during one of their home games, as well as at the annual Powder Puff game before Thanksgiving. The initiative was a tremendous success, and both organizations are excited to make this an annual tradition. The WHS football team’s involvement has made a significant difference, and their continued support is a testament to the strong sense of community that Winchester fosters.
About the En Ka Society
The En Ka Society is a non-profit organization composed of over 200 dedicated women volunteers. Since its founding, the organization has been committed to supporting non-profit groups and community initiatives that serve the residents of Winchester, especially those in need. Through their annual town-wide fair, grants, fundraising events, and donations, En Ka has raised over $2 million since 2000 to give back to the community. They provide both financial assistance and direct service programs, helping to improve the quality of life for Winchester residents.
Together, Winchester Athletics and the En Ka Society are making a lasting impact on their community, proving that teamwork goes beyond the game and into the heart of service.
