The South Carolina High School League awarded the Lake City High School Athletic Department the Palmetto Gold distinction for exceptional participation in the Palmetto Pride initiative that focused on overall sportsmanship and community service projects.
LCHS was noted for outstanding sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches and fans while also covering the community service aspect of the initiative with multiple projects, including a citywide cleanup.
So far this academic year, Lake City High student-athletes have logged 2,333 hours of community service.
