New York – The Queens College track and field teams took time away from their pre-season prep work recently, to participate in a midnight run. The event took place overnight in the streets of Manhattan.
Members of the team collected food items, toiletries and clothing prior to heading into the city. They sorted them out, and then climbed into the vans for a ride around the city.
The Knights gave out these items to various shelters and homeless people in and around New York City. The event had a profound effect on several members of the team.
Senior Anita Korosi reflected on the event, “It’s important to understand how many people are in need right in our own backyard. I will certainly remember the importance of helping others.
