Women’s Lacrosse Lends a Hand at Ronald McDonald House

October 7, 2015 By Team Up 4 Community

NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y. (Oct. 6, 2015) – On Monday, the LIU Post women’s lacrosse team took time to cook brunch for families at the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park.

The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is a home-away-from-home for the families of children receiving medical care at Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

The Pioneers donated $150 worth of food to the families, and assisted in the cooking and preparation of the meal.

“I felt welcomed from the second I walked in and every part of Ronald McDonald House felt like a part of home,” stated a junior student-athlete. “It had an impact on me because it makes you realize what other people are going through and how even the littlest things you do have an impact on other people. The smallest act of kindness can go a really long way and people will remember what you do for them. I am so thankful that I was able to help and be a part of what Ronald McDonald House stands for and does for those in need.”
