Clayton Huey Elementary School knocked down hunger with its annual Cereal Box Domino Challenge. Throughout the month of January, the building collected 400 cereal boxes from students and staff. On Jan. 25, the boxes were lined up as a maze throughout the gymnasium and knocked down as a giant set of dominoes.
After the event, the cereal boxes were donated to the local nonprofit organization Helping Makes U Happy, which benefits the Center Moriches community and provides volunteer opportunities to help those in need.
Clayton Huey Elementary School has collected more boxes of cereal each year since starting the event four years ago. Next year, the building hopes to reach its goal of collecting 500 donations.
