Second grade students at Cherokee Street Elementary School in the Connetquot Central School District created posters and asked for donations of lunch box snack items to help fill lunch bags for a local soup kitchen. Thanks to all the Cherokee students and their families, the second graders were able to decorate 189 brown paper bags and add three snacks and one drink to each bag.
The district is proud of the students who took the time to donate and give back to their community during this winter season.
