The North Babylon school community came together on Nov. 21 to collect non-perishable food items, health and hygiene products, as well as new hats, scarves and gloves for families in need.
The items collected during the food drive, which was sponsored by the district’s athletic department, will help support the Bulldog Cupboard food pantry and the North Babylon community.
Jason Friesen, the district’s director of physical education, health education, recreation and athletics, offered his thanks to varsity and junior varsity coaches Michael Cashman, Steve Corrado, Sarah Lambert, Matt Temme and Alex VanRossem for volunteering to collect the items for donation. Additionally, he thanked Alyssa Imhof, who runs the district’s food pantry, as well as the students and student athletes who donated food and supplies. “It was wonderful to see so much support by the community for the community,” he said.
