Sachem High Schools get in the spirit of giving

November 28, 2022 By Team Up 4 Community Leave a Comment

Local businesses teamed up with Sachem High School East and North to make Thanksgiving a little brighter for some members of the Sachem community. Chubs Meats, along with Gino’s Pizza and several other businesses, donated 80 turkeys, 40 for each high school, to be distributed to local families in need.

In addition to the turkeys, the student governments at both high schools collected Thanksgiving dinner sides and staples. Students organized the donations and put together baskets to distribute with the turkeys, ensuring families in need have a complete Thanksgiving meal. Students were excited to kick off the holiday season by giving back to the community.

5 – Additionally, Sachem HS East purchased nontraditional food items to donate to ENL families and better represent their cultural preferences for a Thanksgiving dinner.
