NYSPHSAA COMMUNITY SERVICE CHALLENGE
2018-2019
For the 2018-2019 school year, the NYSPHSAA had Partnered with the W20 Foundation’s Project Team Up 4 Community to encourage Youth Athletes to give back to their communities through the NYSPHSAA Community Service Challenge!
The Team Up for Community portal provides schools the opportunity to showcase community service projects which ultimately fosters young peoples’ sense of civic engagement and community thus helping them achieve their educational, developmental and social goals. This is the first year NYSPHSAA honored Community Service Challenge Champions after each sport season.
This school year, a total of 277 projects were submitted with a total of 13,580 student-athletes participating in some type of community service project. In total 158,691 hours were volunteered and $426,939 was raised for charitable causes.
Team Up 4 Community is excited to once again partner with NYSPHSAA for the 2019-2020 school year in the NYSPHSAA Community Service Challenge!
