NYSPHSAA COMMUNITY SERVICE CHALLENGE
2023-2024
During the 2023-2024 academic year, the NYSPHSAA collaborated with the W20 Foundation’s Project Team Up 4 Community to promote community involvement among young athletes through the NYSPHSAA Community Service Challenge!
By utilizing the Team Up for Community portal, schools were given the opportunity to highlight their community service initiatives, which aimed to cultivate a sense of civic engagement and community among youth while assisting them in attaining their educational, personal, and social objectives. Following the culmination of each sports season, NYSPHSAA recognized the Community Service Challenge Champions for the fifth consecutive year.
Throughout the school year, a total of 493 projects were submitted, with 25,839 student-athletes actively participating in various community service endeavors. In aggregate, these individuals dedicated 159,973 hours of their time and raised $459,436 for charitable causes.
